Kempower, a manufacturer of DC fast-charging solutions for electric vehicles, has delivered the first charging hub for BYD’s B2B customers in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The company partnered with EV infrastructure specialist Catec to deliver a new charging hub equipped with Kempower’s module and scalable Kempower Satellite charging system. The 550kW installation is aimed primarily to serve limousine operators and serve the city’s ever-growing e-mobility market. According to Kempower, the configuration developed for BYD’s limousine fleet will allow for dynamic power distribution across the site, optimising charging time and enabling the hub to accommodate several vehicles at the same time.
This installation also marks the first public charging hub for Kempower in the region.
“With the combined efforts of Kempower and Catec, we are setting new standards for charging infrastructure in the UAE. This initiative not only supports the growth of fleet electrification but also demonstrates how the solution tackles heat management—a critical challenge for EV charging in high-temperature environments across the region,” says Carlo Cecchi, Director, New Markets from Kempower.
Dubai’s EV charging infrastructure market surpassed 1,270 EV chargers during the summer, while the city surpassed 40,000 EVs at the end of the first half of 2025. Dubai’s EV charging infrastructure has experienced significant growth in the past few months, with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and Parkin Company partnering to deploy 100 EV chargers across the city earlier this month. Under the collaboration structure, DEWA will manage and operate the underlying EV charging infrastructure while Parkin handles service delivery through its smart mobile application.
